“How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation;  which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him?” Hebrews 2:3

Life is a miracle.  We can miss the miracles of God because we are not looking.  Every heart beat; every vision by eyesight, every thought of a sane mind, every emotion of a blessed soul is a miracle of God.

Salvation is a miracle.  The first Century Jewish nation missed the miracle.  Many looked for a political Messiah, but first Christ would come as a spiritual Messiah and go the Cross.  Millions today miss the miracle of salvation by not stopping long enough to consider the claims of Christ.  They exchange temporary earthly pleasures for a loving, saving relationship with Jesus Christ.  “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:10-12

There is a famous old story about a botanist in England who wished to study the small Heather Bell flower of Scotland.  The botanist went to the fields of Scotland and gazed and studied on his knees the little Heather Bell flower for two and a half hours through magnification.

A shepherd came up and snickered slightly to see the botanist gazing for such a long time and asked what was so fascinating.  The botanist handed the shepherd the magnifying glass saying, “Here, you look.”  The shepherd bent over and gazed at the beautiful shapes and colors God had crafted into that little flower.  Through tears, the shepherd repentantly said, “And to think that all these years, I have simply trampled those beautiful flowers under my feet.”

Wake up, my friend.  God’s miracles are all around you.  Do not trample His miracles under your feet.  Examine His gifts, cherish them and praise God for them.  Take time to love your family.  Thank God for the Cross.  Life in Christ is a miracle.  Don’t miss His miracles!
